Framing

Throughout the history of painting, framing has been an important constituent. As style and fashion develop it is sometimes necessary to reframe paintings. We are happy to advise and arrange this working with our gallery framers.

We can discuss and advise suitable options for any style of painting and show images of a particular painting in a variety of different styles of frame from which a selection can be made.

Conservation

Paintings and watercolours do, periodically, require cleaning and/or conservation.

The structural support of a painting can be natural or man-made; canvas, panel, paper, board are all subject to change over a period of time and atmospheric conditions, quite apart from accidental damage. Where necessary, in association with our conservators, we can advise on cleaning, conservation and restoration and arrange for the work to be carried out.

Hanging

Where possible we hang any paintings purchased from the Gallery and are delighted to advise and assist in hanging and re-hanging individual paintings or entire collections.

Private Viewings

We have a long tradition of showing paintings ‘at home’. Clients frequently wish to see a painting in home surroundings, something we are only too happy to oblige.
